About
E. Ashton Seymour has been making music for 9 decades. His early body of work, now being compiled for an inevitable Rhino box set, was often compared to Jim Nabors. He outgrew these comparisons quickly. He was then compared to Frank Zappa - a comparison he will never forgive. "Don't compare my music to that unlistenable schnick-schnack" was the only comment he made in response to this slight.
These days, E. Ashton finds himself regressing horribly: "Most of the time, I can't make it past one take in a recording session. I just can't be bothered. All of my work is done during the commercials of my favorite TV shows. Velcro Underground was recorded during a particularly engaging episode of Matlock."
The other band members could not be reached for comment. They are currently on tour while E. Ashton experiments with new sounds in the studio. There has been some tension in the band because of this. Aunt Joan feels that the band should stick with the formula that has brought them so much success in the past.
