About

El Dante is a six piece band of skilled musicians and writers from around the nation that have met each other in the global village of Bend, OR. After establishing themselves as one of Bend’s best party dance bands focusing largely on cover material, this band really took form when Gabe Johnson (formerly of Jive Talkin’ Robots & Soulwork) joined the band in 2007. Johnson’s “funk ‘n roll” approach helped marry the band’s sense of groove and its penchant for melody while fattening up the rhythm section. El Dante continues to grow in "chops" but the area in which they have truly blossomed is the songwriting department; focusing a lot of energy on an approach to writing that is deeply funky, superbly melodic and strikingly catchy yet also spontaneous and magical. The band's fan base in the Northwest U.S. continues to grow so expect to see ED touring more regularly in 2009 and on the national scene in 2010.
