Dull Boy Jack (DBJ) is a dynamic blues/funk/r&b/twangy rock trio from Portland, Oregon. The members (Rich Frasier - bass, vocals / Jason "JT" Thomas - guitar, vocals / Greg Levine - drums, vocals) of DBJ met each other playing in Closed Captioned, one of Portland's premier classic rock cover bands during the early 2000's. Closed Captioned worked numerous clubs and private events where the eventual trio learned their love of stretching song forms together.

Greg left the band in 2005 and shortly after, Rich approached Greg and JT with some songs he wanted to record. Once the band came together to work on Rich's songs, the proverbial spark was lit and they were off. JT brought in songs and before anyone could realize it, a band had been formed based around these new songs. During late 2006, the band played a few shows to break in more material and hone the songs.

Entering Fresh Tracks Studio in 2006, the band laid down the foundation of their first release "Buttered on the right side". "Buttered.." was released on the band's own label through CD Baby and iTunes in early 2007. Shortly thereafter the band went into Studio 212 (www.studio212.org) in Portland to track "Sweet Sassy", recently released in February 2009 (again through CD Baby and iTunes). Luckily the prolific band tracked enough material for the 3rd release as well, planned for early 2010.

With 2 releases in the can, the band is now focusing on performance and further recording projects. DBJ has a unique chemistry unto itself affording the band limitless possibilities in styles as well as performance. We'll see what 2009 holds for them.
