Bio
He's spent most of his life behind a guitar - singing and pickin', from campfire circles to concert stages. Guitarist and vocalist DON BURNHAM is best known as the bandleader of LOST WEEKEND Western Swing Band (since 1985).
DON continues today performing with LOST WEEKEND, as well as with smaller subsets of the group (the BOLOS, the OVERALLS) and also as he began, with just his Martin guitar.

I Dreamed Count Basie Was A Cowboy (Redoubtable RR 99) **** * Il est de ma génération, mais a attendu 1985 pour monter un groupe western swing. Il a déjà enregistré d’autres albums, que je ne connais pas, mais celui-ci m’a vraiment emballé : rien que des compos, un sens aigu de la mélodie, ne manque pas d’humour et a de superbes musiciens, ce qui donne un CD plein de swing medium, mêlé à du honky tonk à vous faire pleurer (superbe “I Can't Two-Step Houston Out Of My Mind“), du hillbilly boogie (“Fern Frond Boogie“), de la valse (“Apple and Google and Gold“), le tout encadré par deux western swings enlevés, “Go Man, Go!“ et “Driving Lesson“. Saddest day EVER as I must report the death of JIM ROTHERMEL, our extraordinary colleague, after a long battle with leukemia. Jim was a founding member of LOST WEEKEND (1985) and features on my new album. His career/life will be celebrated -- Jim was one of the finest reed players - ever. Musicians of Jim's stature can never be replaced - only sore...
