Bio
Don Ballue recieved his first acustic guitar back in 1969 which was a loaner from his sister Marie, then in 1970 was given his own guitar by his Mother and step father . He learned to play by listening to old records and using a chord chart. He played in a Folk group which started as a project for a Music appreciation class.and enjoyed playing around the Manhattan Ks area until he left the service in 1989. Took 2 years off for medical reasons and has been playing just about any where he could find a place to play. Don now has been playing with an acustic project for fun having jam sessions with Curtis Wayne Stroud and logan Merz.. Don has allso been honored to take the stage at Peru State College .
About
Don Ballue started playing music in high school and found him self writing music for fun even befor he was out of school. Later while in the Army he would jam with friends and play for partys or just about any where he had a chance. Don plays mostly for fun now at jam sessions and small partys and clubs bars even senior care centers and has found a following of all ages from the young to the elderly. Don plays an Ovation guitar as well as a Takamine and his Fender 12 string. Don' allways says "Its all for fun" Don allso plays in the acoustic group "3 After Midnight with Curtis Wayne Stroud and Logan Merz, Smitty, and Renee Rowell as well as Dons wife Marybeth Ballue and who ever will fill in as needed. Dons daughters Julie and Donna have been great supporters and have helped with equipment mgt and with there computer skills as well as Donna's talents on the keybords.
