Fox plays with an improviser's spirit of adventure, whether playing stride piano on Baroque repertoire, or blending the harmonic language of the New Viennese School with bebop. He de- and reconstructs Bach, Piazzola, Schumann, Monk, and Schoenberg, adding propulsive grooves and using composed themes as springboards for glorious improvisational flights. Fox's fluency across genres has led to collaborations with jazz artists like David Murray, John Stubblefield, and Oliver Lake, as well as the Richmond Symphony, American Composers Orchestra, and the St. Louis Symphony.
