At the imperial roller rink right off SE Union (MLK) and Hawthorn (Portland Oregon) Lue the owner (Jewish)  if the Imperial Roller Rink CLICK (A Jew) let me at age manage and run the Rink at age14 (my parents didn’t know) rent the skating rink out on Sunday nights. I would get bank. I would charge 3.50 to get in the door. If I had over 80 people in the door by 9.00pm the doors opened at 7.30and stayed open till 11.30pm there would be several busses filled with youngsters on the bus, fights, would break out all the time. (this was long before the crip and blood gangs moved to Portland)   I would take taxi cabs to school and dress in cummerbund suits at Roosevelt high in 1981 my fresh man year. CLICK  I held all sorts of contests, DJ contest, Lip Sync Contest, Wet T-shirt Contest, look alike contest, skating contest, dance contests, rap contests, talent contests and other cool things. It was real fun. I had the coolest parents ever.

 

 

At age14 I started promoting shows. KBOO’s JW Friday was our spotlight and hottest DJ now the Senior Pastor for bright star ministries was my main DJ, also got support from other great well know dj’s like (past on) Anthony Casey (The Dark Casanova) (past on Superman Tim Warren The Soup), Ken and Kevin Berry the Berry Brothers, Shaw heed, Vita-mix Remember Him: Vita Mix’s greatest triumph to date was the summer '84 engineering of a break-dance competition to coincide with the grand opening of Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square. The event drew 8,000 people and garnered considerable media coverage. VltaMix put together the event, "although KMJK radio took the credit," and provided the master mixing. DJ Fresh who is now at Portland State University.  

 

I have made beats since I was 11 with a casio mt1 (3) second sampler, just to name a few. I understand music theory to a point!! I know all my sharps and flat’s (thanks to Larry Woods)I have had boards like the dss, sq2, p44, asr10, samplers like the mpc, alises, and spun 1200 techniques turntables, I have promoted and produces for over 20 years promoting hip hopPortland and got lots of reviews. Its been fun. As co-owner of Nest coast we brought all sorts on new talent to the table and older ones too. I worked with companies like Double T- Productions, Mike T, Tyrone Blocker, Mr. Network, Uncle Mike, Next Level Promotions, Booker T, to name a few. Styles Promotions, Hawthorn Theater, Berbodies pan and the list continues. The list of groups I worked with is very long, going back to Pleasure, New shoes, Rick James, and I am teaching it to my children family and friends too!!
