In his native Zimbabwe, Dj Ryan began his career at the tender age of 16, dj’ing at various spots including Shooters Pub and Buddy’s Café. In 2000 he moved on to become the resident Dj at Synergy, one of Harare’s most popular nightclubs at the time.

Since moving to Australia in 2002, he has rapidly expanded his resume, first becoming the resident Dj for ‘Safari Bar’, the regular Friday night event at the Big Apple. It was here that Perth’s clubgoers initially took to his unique style and great diversity of musical genres. While Dj Ryan is widely credited as the Dj that introduced Dancehall and Reggae music to Perth, his skill as a Hip Hop and RnB Dj certainly does not go unnoticed.

Dj Ryan has held resident Dj posts at Safari Bar (Big Apple) 2004 (Dancehall/Reggae), Bluprint Nightclub & Space Bar 2005/ 2006 (Hip Hop/RnB) and Cottsloe Hotel 2007 (Hip Hop/RnB). His incredible versatility and ability to read and please the crowd are the trademark qualities that put Dj Ryan amongst the most successful Djs in Perth.

During the year 2005 Dj Ryan & Mr J hosted the Dancehall Invasion Radio Show on Groove 101.7 fm radio station. This program held interviews with artists like, Mr Vegas, Cecile, Wayne Marshall, Marlon Binns, Tanto Metro & Devonte, Future Fambo & Queen Paula.

During his relatively short time in Perth, Dj Ryan has been the supporting act in various international tours including the Hip Hop Allstars tour featuring Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane and Kurtis Blow, official tour dj for the Rumble Down Under Tour featuring Mandoza (from South Africa), Nameless and Dj Pinye (from Kenya) and support dj for Tippa Irie (from the UK) club show at Blubrint Nightclub. Dj Ryan has a released 6 mixtapes since being in Perth. The mixtapes are entitled Riddim Killah and range from Vol 1 – 6.

In 2008 Dj Ryan switched genre and is based at Club Red Sea in Subiaco, one of Perth's premier night spots. Dj Ryan is the resident dj every Saturday night delighting the crowd to a mix of Sexy House, Dance and Electro along with the occasional Pop tracks. In 2009 Dj Ryan has plans on taking over Perth's House and Dance scene and cementing himself as a Dj of all genres.
