English DJ Monik Bio :Born 23 years ago, and with a short trajectory, but breaking the mold, DJ Monik is forever polishing her skills to become one the best female DJ in Latin America. Her base influence in getting involved in music from her childhood was her father, who was a musician. Later, that same vocation what was drove Monik to percussion and guitar. When she was 17, she went for her first time to a “RAVE” party where the headliners were Jimmy Van M and DJ Sasha. The latter was her favorite and years after became her inspiration.
During that same year, she starts working in one of the most important radio stations in Costa Rica, 979 Conexion, where the first electronic music show in the country was broadcasted. Later, she ended up taking over the whole show.
In 2004 she received her first set of DJ equipment that saw this DJ grow with a genre called progressive trance.. very much like Oakenfold and Alexander Coe’s style. Monik’s metamorphosis took several years, changing styles, and sounds. She has also worked with production. Her genre was drum ‘n bass, with the percussion she always carried in her blood.
In the same year she continues with electronic music and she is given the opportunity to warm up the dance floor for 2 local DJ’s at a club called Café 83 Sur. In November, she becomes a resident DJ for the first time at a Lounge called “Bajarse al Moro”.
In 2005 she has no option but to put aside the electronic sounds she so loved to pursue an academic career, but a year later she returns with lots of energy and dedication, and with a different sound.
This time around she comes with a melodic-progressive style (progressive house) with influences from DJ’s like Tarkan, V-Sag, G-Pal and more. Also, she works in tandem with D.U.B which is shorthand for Deep Underground Beats : spreading her unique style of music througout all Central America the world. Not satisfied with only being a DJ, she started new projects as a Producer, using her own vocals and also, she has Tracks released on beatport. Monik also Has been invited to be a guest DJ in one of the most important Online Radios world wide, frisky radio by Dj tarkan and Andrew k. Living on the edge to Europe, in Turkey, having new musical projects and starting her own F.M. radio show.
In her short time being a DJ in Costa Rica, DJ Monik shared turntables with Dj's like : : Sandra Collins (Usa) , DJ Tarkan (Turkey), Sultan (Canada), Ale Reeves (Chile), Tom Swayer (Panamá), Sergio Mixx (Panamá), Fabio Garcés (Colombia), Eric Prestinary (costa rica), Iván Gafer (costa rica) and many more.

Nació hace 23 años, con una trayectoria como DJ estrecha pero que sin duda va rompiendo el esquema, DJ Monik se perfecciona para ser una de las mejores DJs mujeres de música electrónica en Latinoamérica. Su influencia base para involucrarse desde temprana edad fue su padre quien fue músico; más tarde misma vocación que adaptaría Monik para con su vida en la cual eran la Percusión y guitarra. A los 17 años asistió por primera vez a un ''RAVE'' donde los exponentes eran el Norte americano Jimmy Van M y el Inglés de DJ Sasha este ultimo siendo su Favorito, y que años después seguiría sus pasos como DJ. En ese mismo año ingresa como Locutora y productora de una de las más importantes radioemisoras de Costa Rica, 979 Conexión, También donde se lanzo el primer programa de música electrónica el cual más tarde tendría a su cargo.
En el 2004 recibe su primer equipo de mezcla que vieron a esta DJ crecer con un sonido y género llamado progressive Trance: al estilo Oakenfold y en sus inicios al de Alexander Coe. La metamorfosis de Monik duro varios años cambiando estilos, sonidos, También incursionando en la Producción Musical su género fue el drum n bass, la percusión que siempre a llevado en sus venas. En el mismo año sigue en la música y en esta ocasión le dieron la oportunidad de hacer el warm up de dos DJ's locales en un Club llamado Café 83 sur, Para noviembre obtiene su primera residencia en el Lounge llamado ''Bajarse al moro''.Para el 2005 no tiene opción y deja los sonidos electrónicos de lado para seguir con su estudio.
Un año más tarde regresa con fuerza y dedicación con un Sonido Melódico Progresivo (house progressive) con influencia directa de DJ Tarkan, V-SAG, G-PAL y más. Esta Dj Además esta acompañada del colectivo D.U.B: deep underground beats Promoviendo diferentes estilos de música a nivel nacional como Internacional; no satisfecha con solo ser DJ, Monik inicia como Productora de música y asi mismo colaborando con su voz en varios Tracks ya lanzados. Ella regresa este año 2009 residiendo en Turquía y teniendo varios proyectos musicales e iniciando proximamente su propio programa de radio através del FM acompañando las residencias que ha tenido en la web.
A su corta carrera como DJ, Monik a tenido la oportunidad de compartir Tornamesa con : Sandra Collins (Usa) , DJ Tarkan (Turquía), Sultan (Canadá), Ale Reeves (Chile), Tom Swayer (Panamá), Sergio Mixx (Panamá), Adam schofield (Uk), Fabio Garcés (Colombia), Maurio de Sostoa (Barcelona), Eric Prestinary (costa rica), Iván Gafer (costa rica) y muchos más.
