PRESS RELEASE Gyptian (born Windel Beneto Edwards, 25 October 1983, Oldham, England) is an English-born Jamaican reggae singer. Gyptian received his musical calling at the age of seven, when he began singing in the church. Nickname from his habit of typing a shirt around his head and twisting his chin hair like an Egyptian pharaoh. A young Gyptian gained his entry into the Jamaican music business after meeting up with talent scout and promoter Ravin Wong and Earl “Chinna” Smith, the legendary reggae guitarist known for his work with Lee “Scratch” Perry and Bob Marley. Under the guidance of Mr. Wong and Earl Chinna Smith, Gyptian honed his sound, winning the 2004 Star Search talent competition in Portmore, earning him a spot at Sting 2004, dubbed the greatest one night reggae show on earth. Like every great artist, Gyptian has layers and multiple facets to his artistry. Thereʼs the conscious reggae singer who listeners first came to know on his breakthrough 2005 hit ”Serious Times.” Then thereʼs the champion lover who captivated females worldwide with his crooning on “Hold You,” the sultry island pop smash that topped charts globally in 2010. The song even caught the attention of rap superstar Nicki Minaj, who jumped on the remix. Itʼs the latter side of Gyptian who takes center stage on his fourth album Sex, Love and Reggae, a musically diverse set that takes the listener from dancehall to soca to global pop sounds. “Vixen is a song for the really strong women, who like to be in control,” Gyptian says. “Itʼs for all the boss ladies." Its latest music video is directed by Jamaicaʼs talented Ras Kassa of Damian Marleyʼs Welcome To Jamrock fame. The track, co-written by and featuring Angela Hunte (of Jay-Zʼs “Empire State of Mind” fame), is currently picking up steam on radio stations across the U.S., bringing a much-needed dose of dancehall back to the airwaves. Gyptian is very versatile with his music. According to Gyptian " there's no boundaries in music." Pick one—there is a Gyptian song in that category for you.”

The Last Pam's Jam: Movin' Fête We Ready Fah De ROOOOOOOOOOOOAD! As many of you may know, there is a unique and quite famous Trinidadian restaurant located in the U-District of Seattle that has been hosting a series of monthly late night parties since their grand opening 7 years ago. "Pam's Jam" started in 2006 as a promotional stunt to bring together the Northwest Caribbean community & invite locals to experience their culture. Pam's Kitchen grew to be the longest standing business on the corner of 50th and University Way, but now due to the buildings demolition plans, Pam's Kitchen is forced to relocate. This move can only mean one thing, get ready for THE LAST PAM'S JAM! In the spirit of this vibrant caribbean culture with a splash of Afro-Latin flavor, their MOVIN' FÊTE will host a serious mash-up of new & old Soca, Calypso, Reggae, Dancehall, AfroBeat, & Reggaeton provided by the Kitchen's resident DJ, dj.kuhnex, along side special local guests. Pam herself will be cookin' up some of her most famous tasty Trinidadian dishes & drinks throughout the night. All proceeds from this event will help her relocate to the new restaurant. For the first time ever, pre-sale tickets are available and highly encouraged. This event is expected to max capacity due to its longtime recognition in the Northwest Caribbean community.
