From glitchy dance beats to chilled soundscapes, DIZZYGOTHECA's captivating, bittersweet electronica combines enigmatic beautiful vocals, insightful lyrics and artful electronic sounds, drawing comparisons with Portishead, Goldfrapp and The Paradise Motel.

DIZZYGOTHECA, Brisbane’s darkwave darlings, create their intriguing ‘ghostcore’ sound by layering Heidi’s beautiful, haunting vocals with Anthony’s electronic beats, found sounds and darkwave stylings. They play melodies and triggered beats in realtime rather than totally sequenced, using hardware not laptops. They sound like the fey and creative children of Kate Bush and Aphex Twin.
Their live shows are renowned for often startling costuming, creative visual collaborations, enigmatic stage presence and high energy; more and more music lovers are switching on to DIZZYGOTHECA’s unique, adventurous and beautiful electronic sound, and intelligent and thoughtful lyrics.
Their songs explore their own shimmery vision of the world’s dark and light shades, ranging from soft, cinematic soundscapes to pop tinged, glitchy dance beats. They sing of love, truth, madness, hope, nature and machinery, in our complex world.
With appearances at festivals like Pride, Vibewire, Straight out of Brisbane, Next Level and 4ZzZ Market Day, releasing their first EP, and their song ‘I Heart Robots’ coming in at 34 in local radio 4ZzZ’s Hot 100 of 2007, good things are store for DIZZYGOTHECA.
