Distant Lights is a progressive rock band whose cohesion of powerful lyrics and instrumental fluency is as captivating as it is complex. Featuring cellist Jon Dexter, soloist of Richard Linklater's A Scanner Darkly, the group offers something beyond the normal concert experience. While favorable comparisons have been made from Radiohead and A Perfect Circle to Soundgarden and Metallica, Distant Lights' unique symphonic visceral sound is what most clearly differentiates the Austin five-piece.
