“Olson gives advice to musicians wanting to make a statement saying, “You have to be unfiltered and real.” He notes that it can be challenging, especially in unfamiliar situations. He says he sometimes gets stuck between “selling out” and being too personal while on stage, which is why the band’s set list changes depending on the show. It can be a hard balance to find, especially when standing on the verge of the unknown, as Olson often does.
