“Nashville, Tennessee -- Surpassing the competition at the 28th Annual Colgate Country Showdown West Texas State Final, Deidre Thornell proved worthy of the state title and $1,000. The West Texas Fair & Rodeo showcased acts who had won a local contest sponsored by radio stations throughout the state, enabling each to perform at the state level competition of America’s largest country music talent search.
Deidre Thornell, representing radio station KFYN in Bonham, triumphed at the state level event. She has been performing for many years at venues like the Grapevine Opry and Six Flags Over Texas. Currently Deidre Thornell is working on her debut album. In the state competition, she rocked the crowd with songs, “Anyway” and original “Destination Unknown.”
