DEADIRON / Press

“Deadiron enters the studio this weekend to record the first notes of their newest album, tentatively titled "Cast No Shadow." The album deals with a wide variety of subject matter ranging from betrayal of friends, loyalty, honoring the fallen, overcoming depression, suicide, chivalry, and of course, the end of the world. The band expands on their 2012 debut, a punk/hardcore/thrash metal throwback, with the new album "Cast No Shadow" as it takes the classic Deadiron style and throws in some succulent ingredients. The band faces some hefty costs to make this album possible, and so, they are kindly asking for your help. “Greetings Deadiron , I went to the show at the Outpost last night to see my sons band My Dying Breath play. Not only was I blown away with all the bands that played there , I was blown away by the support and coaching that they gave to these young guys just trying to figure it all out. Alex way to show a kid how to sing with feeling ,Twice . Deadiron defiantly won me over as a fan not only because of a great show but also for being just good guys . I look forward to being able to say I saw Deadiron play at this place called the Outpost when the rust of Deadiron spreads across the land . Thanks Brian McCarthy”

“The debut album of Deadiron band, titled "Out of the Rust and Ruin", is one of the best we've heard this year in the metal music scene. The melodic vocals of the experienced Alexander Van Ness blend harmoniously with Tyler's Harvey guitar , the rhythmic guitar of Sunny Kolattukudy, the bassist's J Bennett and drummer Tom Walling. Undoubtedly this is a band that will occupy us many more times in the future with their artistic activity. Their first album is characterized by loud sounds and quick transitions.”

“Deadiron has been emerging over the past couple years to be one of the most lovable and brutal acts to hit Cleveland in recent times. You’ll find their stickers throughout Lakewood and East Cleveland, on bike racks, telephone poles, and occasional store windows.I’ve been following these Viking metal gods from afar, and rooting them on to further success.”

"I've been waiting a long time for a Cleveland band to come around that has the Swedish metal influence. Finally that day has come for me!"

Bill Peters - Auburn Records

"Lead vocalist Alex Van Ness has a delivery that seems to be very inspired by elements of his own punk rock and hardcore background, when paried with the Iron Maiden-esque sound of the music accompanying his vocal, Deadiron provides a metallic soundscape that will appeal to any die-hard metal fan of the 80s that is updated for the present day."

"DEADIRON take equal parts Metallica, Megadeth, Exodus, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Motorhead, Messhuggah, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Accused, Cro-Mags, C.O.C., Black Flag, Judas Priest and King Diamond and thrash them into a bloody pulp all the while playing with a level of skill seldom seen from a band still in the local scene. Bay Area riffs freely move about with NWOBHM inspired solos, hardcore backing vocals and death metal drumming to plow over anything in it's path! The end result is nothing short of broken bones and blown speakers."

"This isn't just a killer band. It's a killing band. I loved it"
