Q: Where did you get your 'feel' for jazz?

A: I would say it is from doing a lot of listening. There is no substitute. Coltrane, Miles, Bill Evans, Coleman Hawkins, Ellington, Ella, Mel, Chet... Also, early influences (when I was 8 or 9) including jazz guitarist Chet Adkins, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder and Joni Mitchell...all of them very creative with phrasing. Thanks for asking!
