she's poised on this street corner set by city lights
the air a buzz with neon flashing in her eyes
backlit signs above familiar doors

if we don't wake up we wont have to face
this fear of growing up seems heavier these days

but this coffee wont clear my head, i find comfort in the walk

feel the summer sun as birthdays pass
with cocktails in this kitchen reminds me of the past
but now fall is coming the wind turned cold
i long for colorado, aspens turning gold

this place feels so different still i can feel this pain of a
lack of adrenaline, its different still the same
in empty halls i might steal a kiss
where performers with emotion might still exist

in her bright eyes she knows the truth
