Bio

The lead singer of LA's bad boys, Culture Killers, has opened up and bared his soul. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, David spent his youth tuned in to top 40 radio hits and sitting around the turntable playing 45's and his parents vinyl records with his younger sisters absorbing all kinds of music from Led Zeppelin and the Rollingstones to the Beatles, Jim Croce, Jim Taylor, etc.

While watcing a Notre Dame football game with his father he noted at halftime that he wanted to be the guy with the funny hat and large baton (the Marching Band Leader)! It took his father a lifetime to get over that! David picked up his first instrument, the piano, at age 3. David played in High School Bands winning talent shows and performing the occasional party but it wasn't until he moved to Los Angeles and while watching a video for the Indigo Girls song "Closer To Fine" that he decided to take a different approach, buy an acoustic guitar, and start playing the coffee shop circuit (Highland Grounds, Common Grounds, Genghis Cohen) playing simple acoustic driven folk/pop.

Over time David's taste drew him back into the world of Rock n Roll where he played with the Kansas City based band Moaning Lisa. After two full discs and relocating back to Los Angeles, the band finally called it quits after 8 years. From the ashes of Moaning Lisa came Culture Killers, a straightforward in your face rock band. Culture Killers is currently being featured in Viva Vision on Fremont Street in Las Vegas. Covering the iconic bad boy song "Born To Be Wild" with a video to match. Culture Killers currently have a 5-song EP available and are working on a full length disc for hopeful release sometime in Spring '09.

David realized he was missing a part of his creative past and decided to pick up the acoustic for other purposes then writing a song for Culture Killers. For the past couple years David, armed with nothing more than his acoustic guitar and a harmonica, has performed only a handful of shows aoustically, but decided now is the time to put together a collection of his own material. David is currently working with Producer/Engineer George Johnson (Royal Crown Revue) on his debut solo disc to be release sometime in the near future.
