“ Great!
Fine piece of Texas swing! I guess the melody and chords are perfect for this genre and they work fine for this tune as well.
Both lead and backing vocals are great I think. Exactly what you expect in a song like this.
The song is well performed, specially like the pedal-steel. Some real fine licks!
I wasn't expecting something like this in the jazz category, but of course you're right! Where else should you put it?
Over all I liked it very much. Thank you for playing such wonderful music!

“ Quirky tune
This tune has a nice gritty sound. I like the swampy quirky feel of it. Kind of a funny hook in the chorus. It's definitely easy to remember. I think the production on the tune goes with the vibe of the song. It's kind of old and grungy sounding which is the vibe I get from the lyric. Cool honky tonk piano riffs as well.

“ Classic country music
The all-famous Johnny Cash beat makes an appearance here all the way throughout the song, which perfectly sets the mood for the song, amidst the howls of slide guitar and hazy bluesy piano which kicks ass from all sides.
The lead guitar almost sounds like a sax here, which is great, a lot of tasty licks running around my eardrums.
Old-school country will never go away and is always here to stay.

ooh whee, that girl better look out, we got some rough and rowdy rednecks on the loose and they got weapons!!
very cool song! the lead vocalist sounds very much like Hank Williams Junior or Billy Ray Cyrus. whole song sounds like it could be from Hank II or for him. I love the heavy bass, would like to know what it is, sounds almost tuba-like. Great lyrics- is there any other genre where you would ever hear the word "vermin"?? This is very cool arrangement! It really catches your ear. love the dobro and piano solos, although would love to have them a bit higher in the mix (louder) and would love to hear the last two drum beats sound like the firing of a gun..

I love this simple tune. I love the mix and how it feels like a real performance and not studio enhanced.
The lead vox at first sound a little like Waylon Jennings. At least that's the artist that comes to mind.
The steel guitar and brushed drums are a nice homey touch to a cute lyrical song about not staying mad at those we love...life's too short, right?
Good positive message...and love the steel guitar and lead guitar duet...but it's too short...keep that going a few more bars!

“ "North Salinas Bar":Country is still alive and kicking!
Great old school country music the way they used to do it! Musically this track has a great balance of instruments i.e. drums, bass, honky tonk piano, guitars even a lap Dobro. Really nice mix! The song itself seems set up right as far as the flow of it and the verse to chorus transitions are really nice and dynamic. This is a great country roots track and I'm glad to know this style is still alive and well but don't take my word for it, have a listen for yourself!

The singer sure has listened to Merle and Waylon A LOT and it shows! We all have our influences and so does this guy, but this sounds original; this voice sounds natural and not forced. The lyrics sound made up on the spot in the tradition of great American folks music. You had me until the spoken part, it got a little stereotypical but then coming back into the chorus after that sounded very good!

“ What a voice
This tune is one of the very honest songs you get the pleasure of reviewing every once in awhile. A very simple arrangement of acoustic guitars and a singer. But, man, what a singer! He starts off singing rather subdued, but as the song grows his intensity and passion increase. Some nice doubling tracks during the chorus, which actually has a timeless and catchy hook- "I love you today, I love u..."- is so damn good I wonder if this is a cover of long forgotten country love songs.Powerful, mature and reminiscent of retro country guys like Johnny Cash or Marty Robbins. The music of the acoustic is very simple and all the emphasis is on the lyrics.

“ Strong Voice, Clean Recording
A powerful male lead vocal PRIMARY to the arrangement sort of in a Roger Whitacre or Ed Ames style.
Singing tastefully accompanied by solid finger picking - but this one is ALL ABOUT THE VOCALS.
The singing has great presence. His voice is in-key, emotional, folksy, with some real nice vibrato at the end of phrases. Harmony vocal track sounds great.
The chorus and come around had an Everly Brothers feel to it. The bridge was reminiscent of Harry Chapin.
The hook is catchy in a way Orbison grabs you.
Really nice sketch. Look forward to full production.

The vocals are a cross between Gene Autrey and Garth Brooks.

The pedal steel is just played so beautifully!
The bass has that oompa oompa oompa you need in Cowboy Music.
