Bio

I have been a singer/songwriter since I was 10- songs with a folk/country sound to them. My songs pay homage to family, friends and growing up in Decatur,Illinois-
I studied songwriting from the late Jack Segal and Jason Blume.
Nashville veteran, Chris Keaton, is pitching my material is currently maintaining between 45-55 "kepts" each month for my songs by artists and producers for their current projects.
I own my publishing company Arnybarn Music (BMI).

About

I've been writing songs for  a looonnnngg time! Studied songwriting under Jack Segal (Scarlet Ribbons) and Jason Blume (Change My Mind).

Songwriting advice; learn all the rules of songwriting so then you can learn to break them. The songs that people love are the ones that break the rules but first you have to understand structure and meter and all of that to then know what will sound interesting.

Song #1 Your Way Home was inspired by the tv show The Walton's - it was the episode where John-boy leaves Walton's Mountain and Grandpa says to him "Don't forget your way home - son...." I wrote that phrase down in March of 1977 and wrote a song some 20 years later! Never throw anything away!

Song#2 Time Traveler literally came from opening up my high school yearbook14 years after graduating....produced by Marty Rifkin although the opening guitar and vocal is me!

Song#3 Kentucky He Made Sense of it All is a tribute to my late Dad who passed in 2005.

Song#4 Change The Way - pro demo version recorded at Sunset Blvd Studios Brentwood Tennessee- lyrics speak for themselves I believe!
