“My interview with Dark Rain”
“1. How did you get started as a band? Dudley and Brian were already in a band, then Kelleigh came along and the rest followed years later. Devon is the newest addition having joined at the end of last year. 2. How would you describe your sound? Sonically charged melodic rock with a twist.. vocally a little bit AC/DC meets Joan Jett. 3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music? Guns ‘N Roses, Metallica, Pat Benetar, Five Finger Death Punch, Pantera… 4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band? It has helped us gain access to new fans who might not have heard us before. It’s also a great introduction for club owners to see us before hiring. 5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music? We pretty much are a 100% focused on the band so not much downtime. Dudley does like spending time with his kiddos. We’re also in the process of putting together our own recording studi”
“We’re off to Brunswick , Maine, a place that barely escaped being Canadian to listen to Dark Rain, a female fronted hard rock band. In their part of the world, they’ve opened shows for the likes of Zakk Wylde and White Lion, amongst others, but this is their turn in the spotlight. And it’s pretty good. It’s modern rock, but with a few hints of nineties metal in and around the guitars, which at least do me the courtesy of being high in the mix, a pet hate of mine in the world of modern rock. I shouldn’t have to shove me ears into a speaker to find the bloody guitar! The band are solid, and the vocals work well. They’ve also got a few good tunes under their belt, with the likes of ‘Get Ready’ and ‘Behind the Screen’ more than capable of getting a few radio plays under their belt. Melodic, without wimping out, this was a pleasant listen.”
“Dark Rain is a band is originally from Brunswick, Maine, and is led by guitarist and composer Dudley Leavitt, who contacted melodic Rock to present his recent album 'The Long Road Home'. "Dark Rain began 10 years ago, as a group of friends who wanted to play, we were doing pretty good things, but the singer and the drummer fell in love and oportunity a daughter, so the " band separated shortly thereafter. Some joined the military so it seemed unlikely a meeting. A few years ago invited the current singer GH do an acoustic set with me and it was magical. "I decided to try and put the pieces together again, and thus returned to revive the band". The band manages different registers, which are the main influences? Different for everyone, I am a child of the 80s, so I like Guns N Roses, Ozzy, Scorpions, some more classic groups like Santana, and Pink Floyd. Bill is a fan of Zappa and ZZ Top. Chris likes European such as In Flames, Soilwork and Pantera metal. Brian is a fan of Metal”

The song "Get Ready" was included in the marketing campaign of Supercuts ' Rock the Cut Promotion'. The work has a sharp guitar and sometimes primitive, complemented very well with clean, crystal clear voices of vocalist GH, next to the most serious of the guitarist and leader Dudley. In this way, the bases are hard but are interspersed with melodious voices as in "Get Ready", "Not Like You”
