Born and raised in Texas, she moved to the bustling East Coast atmosphere to pursue her singing career. After attempting a variety of industry projects, from solo R&B to “Go-Go” to Neo-Soul, she knew she wanted to find her own sound and strive for the scope of her diverse influences. Though artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince, and Stevie Wonder can take credit for her early devotion to singing, her style blends everything from funk, rock, to old-school soul. In 2007 she joined the funk-rock cover band, The Monster Band, with rave reviews from the start. Her front-woman persona and moving vocals have placed The Monster Band as one of the leading cover-bands in the Mid-Atlantic region. In 2008 she started working on her original solo-project. Working with some young developing songwriters, and a budding songwriter herself, DariJ hopes to continue her stylistic growth and have the opportunity to share her music.
Dari also volunteers and fosters for The Virginia German Shepherd Rescue and runs her own dog training business in Sterling, VA called Back in the Pack
