“An exquisite and truthful interpretive artist ... The woman's voice could quell riots and romance tyrants ... S'lovely.

“It's dangerous to stereotype a performer like Dannielle Gaha. Best-known to fans of Roy & HG's Club Buggery - as the brunette half the Nissan Cedrics.Gaha comes from a showbiz family. She's recorded dance singles in Britain, & backed a range of singers from Sting to & John Farnham
Her classy solo CD aptly titled You Don't Know Me. Comprising torch song standards in intimate jazz arrangements, featuring John Harkins, Jonathan Pease, Johnathan Zwartz & Nicholas McBride, & is the kind of mood music you like putting on late at night with the lights turned low.
Highlights include a starkly effective Blue Skies, the scatting Ella Fitzgerald tribute on A-tisket A-tasket & an understated Moon River.Best of all is the delightful arrangement of The Surrey With the Fringe on Top, which starts out as a cool cover before Gaha tap-dances across a rhythmic bridge to a funky, New Orleans-style street party rendition, with wailing horns. It's a terrific finale to a great career move.

“Dannielle Gaha has never sounded better than on this album. It's true, what the liner notes say, one can't help but to wonder why it took her so long to reach this genre. "You Don't Know Me" is filled with so much genuine love for music and the standards recorded. The band is tight and in sync, and the whole production is indulging - that is, they do what they love, and they don't hold back. This pays off though, as with the 9 + minute version of "The Masquerade Is Over", one of the finest moments on the album. Tempo, solos and the general feeling of ease throughout the album screams "uncommercial!", and wonderfully so. Dannielle Gaha and her band presents a timeless record, filled with timeless emotions.
This is an album to cherish, as it holds so many qualities - but, first and foremost, the captivating indulging in love for the music! Check it out!”
“I've been listening to jazz for 20 yrs. I've got all the greats, way back to the 30's. I discovered Danielle Gaha on a webcast of a live performance and was stunned - utterly stunned, at the beauty of her singing. She's apparently very popular in her native Australia, but unknown here.
Quite frankly, I can't think of a more perfect collection of the classic standards than "You Don't Know Me." Her "Moon River" is, in particular, one of the most sublime things to happen in jazz in a very long time.
She lends her sweet, sexy, sophisticated voice to arrangements that are classy and spare, with rich piano, accoustic bass and brush snare accompaniament. Nearly every song on this album goes down like the best glass of wine you've had in a long time.
Perfect for active listening and also for background music as you go about your day, "You Don't Know Me" is one of those jazz albums that, just by itself on a nice sound system, can make a room worth being in.”
