August 2nd DANFEST is back with more bands and more fun for all!
“ROCK music lovers are invited to an all-day festival to raise money for charity. Danfest will be held at the Crooked Billet pub, in Stanford-le-Hope, on Saturday, July 20. Organised by Dave Pankhurst, drummer of rock group Trash Monroe, the day has been named after his son Daniel and will raise money for the National Autistic Society. Dave explained: “Me and my other half are going through problems with getting my little one diagnosed. He suffers with autism. “The day is named after him, he loves music so it made sense to do a music day.” Bands including Trash Monroe, Minerva Falls, Bow Flats and Dookie, have already been confirmed and there will also be face painting, a demonstration by Stanford Warriors Ju Jitsu group and other entertainment throughout the day. Dave added: “It is a family day. I’m trying to get a bouncy castle and a burger or ice cream van. “The Billet has given us the run of the facility – they have been brilliant.” ”
