The name for my band is really significant to me. When I think about the world, I think about the people within it and all the hurting that's going on. We're all damaged in some way by the world around us; some more than others. While we all know about these things going on, I want to bring them to attention through my music instead of just being a passing thought. (At this time, these are just songs on paper; all the music I've written so far is for the other half of my music, which I'll totally coincidentally describe now! Ha.) But through the damage and brokenness, there is hope on the other side that things will be okay again. One song that I have in the works is called "Repair". With damage comes the process of rebuilding, and this is something we cannot do on our own.

I just wrote this down after I went to Soul Fest 2009. Soul Fest always seems to rekindle my desire to write music, and this year was not any different. However, I think this year made me realize that I need to focus more on letting God work through me and have Him help me write my music instead of being the only author of it all. Without Him, I know I'm nothing. I'd like to thank bands like Fireflight and The Wrecking for being great examples of doing His work in this world to me. :)
