“Ivan Kral, Grammy Award winning composer, and songwriter for U2, David Bowie, Patti Smith and Iggy Pop, among others, comments: “Cyndi, you’re a true poet! It seems like you so easily seize life’s major challenges, but also its tiny nuances. Your choice and placement of words are so much more than a technical skill. They’re charged with fire, wisdom, but also a child-like wonder. It’s as if you easily toss words onto a page and somehow magic appears. Easier said than done. Believe me, I know.” ”

" I'm going to insist that you take a time out to peruse her web, listen to her rhythm and feel the gritty goodness of a true word rocker.'

"In the 1980s, Dawson took her performing to another level while working with New York City artist Rene as a model, and in performance art pieces. Their collaboration reached its zenith when they put together a show called "The Sea Serpent's Daughter," named for, and centering around, one of Dawson's poems. It was staged in SoHo. A melancholy tale of a man who meets a beautiful mermaid, then dies waiting for her return to the shore, the story was told through Dawson's reading, with a film shot on Jones Beach, N.Y., as a backdrop."

“'Cyndi riveted the crowd with readings of masterful grit and live wordrock straight from Outside Girl. She led us to the past party bars of New Jersey and to go-go artful days in NYC. We were there with her.'”

"We are getting more known globally than locally," says Dawson, a former actress who reads her own work each week.

“International Word Rocker Cyndi Dawson is the author of 'Outside Girl', released July, 2010 by Poets Wear Prada Press. Her work has been compared with poets Jim Carroll and Sylvia Plath, but as the poet Puma Perl states, 'Cyndi establishes herself as a fierce, forceful, raw, punk poet who holds her own on the page."”

"Cyndi and Jair-Rohm form a dynamic and genre-defying alchemical fusion which consistently produces pure gold. Theirs is a magical coupling of two gifted artists, each with an incredible range, deep perceptions and a profound emotional intelligence. The dramatic chemistry that spills from their crucible is seductively compelling... confrontational... visual... transformative."
