Curtis Wayne Stroud was born and raised in the little Northwest Missouri town of Mound City, MO. Stroud grew up around country music and counts such legends as Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Billy Joe Shaver among his early influences. Starting out, he also learned from noted area musicians such as bluesmen John Skidmore and Jerry Forney, as well as Ted Paxson, Phil Forney and Kenny Brushwood.
