C.Saw / Press

“. Unlike other such projects this is actually a full line-up band although Christos seems to be the one making the music and concept. The closest band i can think of when comparing C.Saw to any other bands would be Lake Of Tears. Calm Dark Rock music combined with some Metal guitar riffs but also with some Dark Wave like rhythms here and there. Christos has some good vocal qualities, and adding some female vox, C.Saw manages to create some interesting stories about life in general. Nothing groundbreaking, but quite entertaining and good to listen to while having some beers. “C. Saw is actually a one man project from Greece. Christos Kosmidis sings, plays guitar and piano and wrote all the music and lyrics. He invited some music friends who play drums and bass, as well as a female singer. Musically, we must categorize C.Saw in the dark / gothic rock corner: it is spherical, mysterious and dark. Beautiful chords with an occasional kick on the distortion pedal. The Greek has only been working on his project for half a year now and already managed to record three fairly good songs for this EP entitled 'Acid Rain'. Christos is now looking for a record label so he can record a full length album and frankly I am quite curious to hear more of his work. Rating 73/100 (1st part)”

“The opening track 'Acid Rain' kicks in right away, a guitar track reminiscent of The Mission and also of the Spanish band Heroes Del Silencio. Singer Angelica Medousa Efremidou talks more than she sings, but she gives the track something special, something mysterious and mystic. The double bass drums in the chorus give the song also a real metal feel. The following ‘Leave the Light Open’ has a great acoustic riff and can compete with the best singer-songwriters. Unfortunately, the voice of Christos is not of the same level as his guitar playing. Antimatter's Mick Moss would sing this track to an even higher level of excellence. Valve 'Despair' is also very mysterious and will especially appeal to fans of Paradise Lost and Katatonia. If the recordings would be a little bit better it would spice up all three songs. I wholeheartedly hope that Christos finds a record label because I'm sure he can put together a good album. Rating: 73/100 (2nd part) ”

“A few days ago I received the "Acid Rain", the new CD Single of C. Saw. C. Saw is a new dark rock / metal band based in Thessaloniki. Three mid tempo tracks make up the single, the "Acid Rain", "Leave The Light Open" and "I Despair". A quality production from a promising band that runs along the paths of the atmosphear of old Anathema, the goth Paradise Lost, but also the Archive and Nick Cave. The electric and acoustic guitars, male and female vocals (the title track, with the guest's presence Angelique Ephremidis), creating a melancholy, without losing any energy. Poetic lyrics, which were either sung, or recited, give rise to "dark" emotions. Finally, the dark cover complements this very tempting packet. The songs of this single are taken from the first complete album of C. Saw, which I hope to see soon on the shelves of music stores.”

(end of part 1)”

(End of part 2)”

Bewertung: 6/10 (End of part 3)”

“C.saw or Christossaw is a project of Christos Kosmidis from Greece. He's planning his debut album and with this occasion he released this advance single consisting of 3 tracks, 15 minutes of playing.
