Raised on an island where Reggae & Dancehall rule the airwaves, Kat.Wil.

the voice and face of Crimson Heart Replica has overcome many obstacles

to become the indie artist she is today. And yet she has always been mindful

of what it takes to make it and what it means to be an artist.

Growing up in Jamaica’s capital city Kingston, CHR wrote music, sang and danced

in school productions, played the piano by ear and was fed a steady diet of classic

artists such as Stevie Wonder, Santana, Madonna, Prince, BeeGees, and Earth Wind

and Fire

At 17, CHR taught herself how to play the guitar and discovered a deep appreciation

for what she calls “rock culture.”

Today, it is “rock culture” intertwined with sacrifice and passion that drives CHR’s music.

She is Jamaican but heavy alternative rock beats intermixed with reggae rhythms and

soul gives birth to a sound that exists far from the city lights of Kingston.

Music is what CHR refers to as her natural instinct:

“i don’t do it for any reason other than to express things. my experiences

influence me.i tend to write about events or feelings tweaked with a bit of vulnerability.

love is a major influence. i’m a hopeless romantic.”

Since 2004, CHR has diligently built up her fan base while representing the

alternative rock genre locally and overseas. She has performed at major island

 festivals and in numerous venues including, the annual Air Jamaica Jazz and

Blues Festival, Calabash Literary Festival, Kingston on the Edge (KOTE), the

Flash Point Film Festival, Red Bones Blues Café (Kingston, Jamaica),

Vagabond (Miami), and Kenny’s Castaway (NYC).

CHR has shared the stage with celebrated local and international artists such

as Kenny Rogers, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Rootz Underground, Diana King, poet

Ishle Park, Tessanne Chin, Sarah Couch, and European artist Nemo.

CHR is a non-stop wave of emotional expression taking you on a

journey into the Crimson Heart that transforms sad into

the new beautiful.
