About
I have been playing' and writing music around the mid-west area for 20 years, living and absorbing a wide spectrum of music. The origin of the song is my mission. Always aspiring to understand the effects of melody/sound on the human condition. They say music is the language of the soul (energy) and ALL OF US have the connection to this intuitive Source, if we awaken to the NOW that we all manifest.
I write songs with a social conscience with familiar characters everyone can relate to. Mixing in real issues that have and are happening in this world, indeed the trick is, at the same time being entertaining enough not be tune out by the mainstream alternative (FILL IN THE BLANK AS DESIRED FOR THE ARTIST YOU WISH TO WORSHIP OR DENOUNCE) It's funny! Have you ever noticed, not that I am the first to point this out. The term "alternative" has been completely co-opted for the sake of anything but. It is an oxymoron to have a mainstream alternative of course, Anyways I am rambling on and on. Despite all of the obvious challenges I aim to throw in a little humor to lighten things up. Usually I play with the old archetype of good against evil and the equally common UNDERDOG (that represents all of us) with the obvious love themes that are easily accessible for sentimental people that have had their hearts ripped out and handed to them. I am striving to also bring the old idea of the protest song into the 21st century with a social progress report to wake up the sleeping masses that are mindlessly brainwashed walking with the herd through their lives unaware of relevant issues that the mainstream corporate media (war criminals/profiteers) won't tell the public, aren't allowed to talk about or are complicit in the censoring on radio, newspapers and the boob tube. Being that the old model of NEWS i.e. information (free press) is gone. Any coverage of real hard news is evaporating by the minute, replaced by info-tainment, with all the frivolous materialistic consumer based skull numbing tabloid sensational coverage of all the usual suspects (pick your flava) of the GLITTERATI. In these times we live in, it is most exciting and inspiring to see all the history (good and bad) unfolding and there is no other time but NOW to live, because NOW is all we've ever had to learn and grow as creative children. That is our only job while we spend this moment on this infinite plane of opportunities.
