Steve, Adam and Gabe were all born at the end of the 80’s in Southern California and raised in San Diego. They witnessed the uprising of the Southern California punk scene and grew up listening to punk legends like Social Distortion, A.F.I., and Bad Religion.

“…I think the Operatic-ness comes from the second quote that I picked up on; about the inspirationals by Maiden and Queen and others. Counter Launch really has captured the dramatic nature of their heroes. It is hard to capture the intensity, passion, and quirkiness of these bands without making it laughable. But Counter Launch does just that. This album is full of 70′s and 80′s rock and metal moments. But, and I cannot stress this enough, it does not come across as dated. It’s doesn’t even come across as an homage. I hear the undercurrents of Maiden but it’s not a rip-off. Counter Launch takes their foundation and brings it in new and personal directions, much like Sum 41 and Underminded did.
It is a good solid album. I will listen to it again. It will go on my iPhone in general rotation. Here are my ratings, from 1 to 10
