Q: How long have you been playing? What are your roots?

A: Joe, I've been playing since I was 11 years old. In all these years I've learned other instruments too. Although due to an accident I couldn't play for 10 years. Started to get it together again but after my wife passed away I couldn't play anything at all. Until about 4 years ago that is and I keep working on my chops everyday. My roots started with the early Stones (Brian Jones era) Got into the Blues due to finding out all the tunes the British dudes were copying and playing. After Ginger Baker came by then I got into studying and as a Drummer I prefer Jazz. Although I can sit in any situation I'm asked to play in. My influences are everything and everybody I ever met and or crossed paths with. And that includes all my friends (and maybe some enemies) I grew up with. Everything in life was my influences if you can understand that. I'd like to write a lot more so I sent you an e-mail. Anyway thanks for asking and most of all thanks for listening and liking what I do or did. Drum Thing was recorded live in a club with a Teac 3440A and I used 2 $275.00 Sony mics. So was Drum Thing Again but it was on a different night and though basically a lot was the same I came out with some tasteful tom stuff. At least I thought so. And so did that black chic going whoo in the back ground.........LOL!!! I just play what comes out of me when doing solo's. I don't think of what I'm going to do. I just let it come out by itself. And they're not recent at all. They were done about 30 years ago.
