About

The ConSoulers are a new Nashville, TN, based band debuting in May 2009. They are in the process of recording at this time so no music is readily available here at ReverbNation.  We will be sure to post it as soon as possible!  The ConSoulers feature the following musicians:

Don Barrett - Bass & Vocals (founder) -  Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Don Barrett began his recording career at the age of 19 as one of the founding members of the Malaco Records rhythm section.

As a session bassist for Malaco, Don recorded with a long list of legendary R&B and Blues artists including Dorothy Moore (Misty Blue), King Floyd (Groove Me) and Anita Ward (Ring My Bell).
After leaving Jackson, Don’s session career carried him to New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Nashville and covered musical genres including R&B, Pop, Country, Jazz and Film.
After several years in Atlanta working for Web IV Music and recording with pop artist Paul Davis (I Go Crazy, Cool Night) Don settled in Nashville where he recorded, toured and sang background for ‘80’s country superstar, Eddie Rabbitt playing bass on mega crossover hits ‘Driving My Life Away’, ‘I Love A Rainy Night’ and ‘Step By Step’.
Don’s songwriting credits include two Grammy nominated blues recordings for blues artists Little Milton, Jonnie Taylor and Keb Mo.
Steve Williams - Keyboards & Vocals (co-founder) St. Louis native, Williams, moved to Nashville in '95, and toured with Kenny  Chesney, Tanya Tucker, Buddy Jewell, Sherrie Austin, Deborah Allen and many more but his true passion is writing.
Steve celebrated the success of his first #1 hit song with the smash, "REDNECK YACHT CLUB" (recorded by Craig Morgan ) which crossed over into the pop charts and became one of the most downloaded songs of 2005. ASCAP called the song, "The summer song of 2005."
"I GET TO"  rose to the #1  spot on the Christian Music  charts soon after.  His songs have been recorded by George Strait, Craig Morgan, Trick Pony, Buddy Jewell and more.

John Foster - Guitar & Vocals -  John Foster must have worn out a few radios in his early years. From his intimate familiarity with so many diverse styles of music, he couldn't have let the dial rest for long on any one station. This is not to slight his authenticity in any one genre; it's more a measure of his sincere fascination with all the great music of the last five decades. Some artists claim to have been influenced by a broad band of benchmark artists, past to present, but every time john picks up a guitar or opens his mouth to sing, the proof comes out.

John hails from Oklahoma City, the heart of a state steeped in a rich musical tradition, a place immortalized in song by musical greats as diverse as Woody Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen, and Rogers and Hammerstein. While Oklahoma seems to have put the "W" in C&W, it also must have an isolated mineral in the groundwater that might explain the mass appeal of modern greats Vince Gill, Reba McEntire, and Garth Brooks, as well as legends like Leon Russell, David Gates, and jazz guitarist Barney Kessel.

His gifts have attracted the attention of country singer Sammy Kershaw, who saw him performing on stage at a theme park and soon invited him to join the band, And the legendary Beach Boys, who on the recommendation of a mutual friend, had him sing a few number over the phone and were sufficiently impressed to send him a plane ticket in order to have take over the high falsetto vocals written and originally performed by Brian Wilson. And the great Charlie Daniels, who not only appreciates John's performing talents, but signed him as a writer in 2000, a time when other publishers were shrinking their staff numbers. His composition "I'm Not Breakin",co-written with Marc Christian, was recently a top-30 single for Curb recording artist Steve Holy.

Randy Leago - Saxophone & Vocals - Randy Leago is one of the most creative and in-demand musicians in Nashville. His career is marked by performances, touring and recording with a wide variety of artists.

Since 2003 he has been a regular member of the bands of Shelby Lynne, Kathy Mattea and Deana Carter, playing keyboards, saxophones and woodwinds.

He performs on saxophone with rock legend Duane Eddy, and live and in studio with horn sections such as  Jim Horn's Section, Memphis Horns and Muscle Shoals Horns.

In Nashville he performs regularly with his post-lounge music ensemble Aqua Velvet, roots music group The Downtown Wigs, Steely Dan tribute 12 Against Nature, rock album tribute band The Long Players, all-star vocal group Kentucky Thunder, and many others.

He has performed on stage and television throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and South America.
