Dalton DeCecco founded the project in mid 2004 with a couple of friends. Other than the over used punk trios, metal bands and alternative/fusion rock groups that infested the area of central New Hampshire, Dalton turned his focus to synthesizers rather than the constant over use of guitars, while also succeeding in keeping a rock feel and keeping Manus Obscura out of the techno genre. Influenced highly by such recording artists as Nine Inch Nails, :wumpscut: and Depeche Mode; Manus Obscura became an embodiment of chaos portraying dark futures and haunting emotions that corrode our society and selves.
