Bio

I started learning piano from age 12 and then guitar at 14. By 17 I had my first bass rig and joined my first band which luckily was an original band called "The Hummingbirds". For the next 20 years I have been in any combination from duos to five piece bands covering all genres of music. Over the last 5 years I have been composing on my own in my home studio without the constraints that bands can have on creativity.

About

This is the Solo Project of Singer / Songwriter / Composer / Soundscape Designer / Music Programmer - Drew Master Jay - Lately I have been composing exclusively using the ACID PRO 6 music platform and I have an extensive library of loops and samples on my .04 terrabyte external hard drive that I can call on. My vocals are all recorded with my RODE PODCASTER usb microphone.  - UPDATE 27-07-09 - I have two projects that I am very excited about at the moment. The first involves my original composition "You drive me wild" which I posted onto "Soundcloud". I uploaded all the loops and vocals that were used in the tune and have invited any re-mix artists to do a version for me. I have two on display already. One from Logan Townsend, a very talented artist from Baton Rouge, Louisiana (The Dirty South) USA. His stage name is (The Kali Co.).  I think the re-mix mp3 he has done (which is downloadable) can't be bettered, but there are another three re-mix artists that have put their hand up and are currently slaving over a hot CPU mother board to bring forth even more spectacular results.  Ben Baylor - (Snakeboy) a fantastic Producer/DJ out of Monticello, Florida, USA has just sent me his own mind bending re-mix of "You drive me Wild". His live DJ experience has given my tune an insane dance floor vibe that is unmistakably NOW. It's over 8 minutes long and is truly entrancing from the get go. the Vocoder work is out of this world. I never thought my voice could sound so metallic and Terminator and Transformer like. Optimus Prime eat ya metal heart out. Thanks again Ben. The second project that I am very excited about is with Reverbnation. They have come up with this unique idea of teaming up with global brands and pairing them with unsigned and independant artist's such as myself. My original composition entitled  "Whatcha gonna do" is now in that promotion and is also available for download on the link within my Reverbnation music player. I think it's a great way to get my music "out there".  I also recently received a re-mix by a NYC artist by the name of  "Marvin Martini".  He has done a mash-up of my original composition "Whatcha gonna do".  It sounds very different from my original and has been getting a lot of downloads.  - UPDATE 26-04-09 - My latest collaboration has been with Sana Kalesi. She is from Shiraz, Iran and is a supurb poet. She asked me to put one of her poems to music which I did. It's called "Rain for Sana. - UPDATE 11-10-08 - Most recently I have collaborated with the new female global singing sensation "Cher Andt". Cher's voice evokes the mystery of Bjork and the frailty of Avril Lavigne. We just completed the tune "You got me" Parts (1) and (2) also "Don't take that road" and "Sleepless".  All four trax are getting a lot of inerest and downloads. - UPDATE 08-08-08 - Alfred Unroe sent me a remix he did of my track "Face your love". He asked for my vocal wav file and some of the loops which I used to create the track. He has created a completely different animal to the one I did. It's fantastic. It's crisp, fresh, sparce and very dancable. Previously I completed another collaboration with "Alfred Unroe" who was at the time residing in Nagoya, Japan. Alfred REMIXED my "It's not too late you know" tune to create a very sweet extended dance floor remix.
