Bio
3 Blocks West is a group of Christian musicians representing 5 different churches at the Jax Beaches. Formed in 2005, we are primarily involved in ministry at BUMC in Jax Beach. Our music speaks of overcoming life’s struggles & the hope we found through our faith in Jesus. We believe in sharing our own struggles in the hope that others can find the peace & joy we have experienced “at the foot of the cross.” Our primary influences are Third Day, Switchfoot, Casting Crowns & Chris Tomlin.

To find the lost and bring them home to the Love of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. To go out into the world and make disciples of all men and women, increasing God's Kingdom.
We are here to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to fulfill the Great Commission through Praise and Worship. Over the years we have taken our guests away from the stress of everyday life and created a relaxing environment filled with the presence of the Lord.

Our History
3 Blocks West (FKA Turning Point Band) started after the leaders for a ministry at a church in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, asked Paul to think about leading worship for their weekly meetings. At the time, they were singing along with CDs played on a boom box. A short time later, Paul asked Patti to join him; he knew her from the church praise choir and they sang to praise and worship tracks. As the ministry grew, however, they realized the need for live music because of the importance of worship. Paul had a guitar player in mind from a former Christian band he sang with, but they had lost touch over the years, and Paul didn’t know how to reach him. Until one day shortly after, God placed them both at the same venue. That’s when Paul told his idea of doing live music, and asked Bob if he would like to join in and play guitar. He gladly accepted, and they began playing live unplugged praise and worship music, bringing back an original they wrote together in their previous band titled “The Choice is Yours.” The evening was filled with the spirit and presence of God. The following week, two devoted Christian musicians, Kevin and Susan joined in, adding a second guitar with mandolin, and bass. Neil joined the band later on drums as did Cliff on keyboard. As the group jelled, Bob, Paul, Susan and Neil began writing music and lyrics that expressed hope borne out of their own life’s struggles. Today 3 Blocks West continues each and every Friday night doing Praise and Worship as well as their original Christian music. Look for 3 Blocks West soon at a venue near you.
