Colfax formed in the summer of 2008 and has since toured across Canada twice, including playing over 150 shows from Charlottetown to Nanaimo. Colfax signed a multi year distribution deal with DEP/Universal through Blue Sapphire Music in February 2010.
The innovative EducaTOUR, supporting music in education, has seen Colfax visit over 100 Canadian High Schools and play their brand of rock music to nearly 15,000 students. Colfax has also started a novel fan appreciation program.

“EducaTOUR has been presented to more than 100 high schools coast to coast in Canada since April 2010.
"We started this idea a year ago," said Tinsley. "Had we had this information, we wouldn't have been in debt at first."
The program is designed to help students who aspire for music-related careers identify their goals and follow their dreams, as the band says, despite the dismaying circumstances presented by art budget cuts in high schools and the ever-changing industry itself.
Tinsley, who is from Brockville, enjoys being part of EducaTOUR and helping keep music alive.
"There's music being taken away from schools. This way I get to combine education and performance," he said.
Tinsley and Nichols led the students through such topics as the conception of a band, choosing between various avenues of success, how artists spend and make money, and details surrounding rights and royalties of a band's music.”
