Cold Driven’s debut album, “Set In Stone” has established them as a fresh new force, revealing a multi-faceted group which thrives on creative exploration and escape. With the nationwide release of “Steel Chambers” on May 25th 2007, Cold Driven has reinforced their distinctive sound.
Dennis, Shane, Billy, Ben, and Jeremy come from very diverse musical backgrounds, each bringing something individual to the table. The band’s combination of heavy rock, laden with surreal ominous strains of pulsating beats with passive acoustic strumming, grabbed the attention of a wide audience when featured on Garage Band. The pieces selected by Garage Band from their debut album won them accolades such as Track of the Day, Track of the Week, Best Drums, Best Programming, Most Original, Best Lyrics, Best Male Vocals, Best Bass, Best Beat, and Rocking Track.
In 2006 Cold Driven took home an OMA award for “Song of the Year” with their song “Bittersweet Casualty” in Vernon B.C. with nominations in 5 other categories, including Album of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Rock Artist or Group of the year, and Songwriter of the Year.
More recently Cold Driven won 5 awards at the 2007 OMA awards held in Kelowna B.C. including Producers of the Year, Engineer of the Year, Songwriters of the year, Group of the Year, and the coveted People’s Choice Award.
Cold Driven has secured a national distribution agreement with Spirit River Distributions. Spirit River is a FACTOR recognized distributor to retail, wholesale, and online outlets such as: CD Plus stores, Chapters-Indigo, HMV, Sam s Franchise Stores, Virgin Records as well as many independently owned stores.
