Ask CODEX ALIMENTARIUS anything...

Q: What significance does your name "codex alimentarius" mean to you? And can you explain what "codex" is, for those who have not yet heard of it?

A: Very good question! Codex Alimentarius is Latin for Food Book or Food Book of Law. Its is also the name of the current International commission for Food & Health, which controls and regulates our food supply. It has long dark history of control, dating back before the Austro-Hungary empire and as well as used by the Nazi's in World World Two (In fact the words on the gates of the camps are in relation to this). Me (D), Steve & Elliott are very Political, and the name it self brings World Politics in a whole new light - he who controls the food, controls the world! And with very very few people aware of what's happening, so the band name gets people/fans to research it and understand themselves what is going on. Also Steve's Lyrics give a great basis for this covering history, world politics and life - with this we feel the band name becomes even more fitting. D - Codex
