The concept of taking things "to the left" is not political, only human. In our busy lives we try desperately to file events and occurrences into a tunnel, bearing what we deem to be the "right way." Often times we become so immersed in making things "right" for ourselves that we often fail in our endeavors. Neil's song "To the Left" is simply a statement that there is ALWAYS another road in life. For those of us pushing to make things right, perhaps there is another opportunity "To the Left." The idea sounds simple. And, of course, one cannot omit the thoughts of Frost's "Road Less Traveled." That may be an influence, but, nevertheless, it's important sometimes to heed the words of musicians and artists as there exists and endless world or possibility out there for the artist and her pen.
