I’ve been doing this for days
And I’m not letting go now
Trying to find some meaning in what I’ll say
But I don’t, no I don’t quite know how.

And I find if I put my trust in a stranger
Then I can’t waste a lifetime of lies.
And in my state I can’t take the pain or the anger
So I guess the truth really does hurt sometimes.

I’ve been lost in haze
From dreaming these impossible dreams.
And I hope this is just a phase
Where everything isn’t quite what it seems.

And if I climb my way to the top of the ladder
Will I finally be complete.
And if I get there and find that it never really mattered
Then what the hell’s supposed to happen to me?

So I guess I’ll just stay
Here on the edge of what might be.
Sit and focus on today
And where my predetermined fate will lead me.

And it’s too late to escape the mindless construction
Of a life that was not meant to be.
But if take the time to shake off these corruptions
Maybe I can finally be free.
