About
Welcome to the Classical Music Consort. Founded by artistic director Ashiq Aziz in 2006, the CMC is Toronto's first ensemble dedicated to the exploration of works from the Classical and Early Romantic periods and the commissioning of new works written in the spirit of those periods. The ensemble combines skill and enthusiasm with style and artistry, creating an irresistable listening experience for its audience. Already underway are exciting plans for the future. This summer, the CMC will present a fully-staged production of Handel's Acis and Galatea at the Fringe of Toronto Theatre Festival. The 2008-2009 season will include performances of Barber's Violin Concerto, Grieg's Holberg Suite, op. 40, Stravinsky's Suite from Pulcinella, as well as Haydn's Symphony no. 104, "London".
