Civil Protection are FINALLY playing in York! Instead of going through promoters and traditional venues, we've decided to go for the DIY approach, and we've got a wonderfully varied line-up to support the event. Entrance to the gig is £4, but this is purely to pay the rent of the venue and possibly a bit towards petrol costs. Civil Protection http://www.facebook.com/civilprotection Civil Protection are carving out a niche for themselves within the Yorkshire music scene with their sharper, more immediate brand of melodic post-rock. Citing influences like Caspian and maybeshewill, they are all set to release their debut album on October 7th under West Yorkshire-based independent label Bunnysnot Records. The album is receiving great reviews on blogs such as The Sound Of Confusion, Supa Jam and Heavy Metal Time Machine. A full UK tour is planned in support of the release. Civil Protection have supported a diverse selection of acts, including Glaswegian math-rock up-and-comers Vasa, and established Indie darlings The Indelicates. Their energetic live performance and unique take on the genre have helped to establish them as true "local heroes", as described by Huddersfield's Raconteur Magazine. Check out our "Single" - http://civilprotection.bandcamp.com/. You will also be able to buy the digital copy from that link once the album is released, or alternatively buy a physical copy on the night. Animated http://www.facebook.com/AnimatedUK Huddersfield-based rock band Animated are stirring up the local scene with their no-nonsense approach to rock music - straight-up ballsy rock, guaranteed to get you moving. Also first-timers in York, they'll be rockin' your souls with new material off their upcoming album, due out in 2014. Vacant https://www.facebook.com/musicvacant The popular Vacant, local to the York scene, will be providing their laid-back acoustic/alt rock vibes. These guys are getting big around the local area, sporting their tunes on BBC Introducing and playing a plethora of gigs around the area. Lovely acoustic sets provided by Gavin Law and Randal Munroe Lighting lovingly supplied by Chris Porter Technical Operations https://www.facebook.com/ChrisPortertech

October 7th sees the release of our first full-length album, "Stolen Fire". We'll be playing the album in its entirety at Bar 1:22, Huddersfield, on Friday 11th October - the venue where we played our very first gig! We're incredibly excited to headline this event, and we have two amazing bands supporting us on this momentous night. We hope to see you there and celebrate with us the launch of the album and the start of our mini-tour! Entrance to the gig is £4, but this is purely to pay the rent of the venue and possibly a bit towards petrol costs. PseudoNympho http://www.facebook.com/pseudomyspace Label-friends PseudoNympho combine rock, prog grunge and metal to deliver a very unique sound. They've also recently released their own album, and it's a corker. PseudoNympho are a progressive edged, hard rocking, grungey 5 piece from Leeds. Their mission is to put back the intelligence, thoughtfulness, & meaning into heavy music, without losing the necessary attitude. Hard hitting yet interesting, idiosyncratic, & sometimes challenging music, with a heavy focus on lyrical content leave them standing in a field almost entirely of their own in terms of style. Space Bitch! http://www.facebook.com/Spaceband Halifax-based Space Bitch! bring us a special blend of raucous metal and psychedelia tinged in comedy. A great little enrgetic three-piece.
