This August, come down to Davenport’s for a special musical presentation by Chicago chamber folk ensemble, Del Segno. Del Segno presents “At the Chime of a City Clock” featuring selected works by ill-fated English songwriter Nick Drake who released three albums, Pink Moon, Bryter Layter, and Five Leaves Left during his short career, yet rarely gave live performances. Led by composer/singer-songwriter Chris Zonada, Del Segno gives a new breath of life into each of Drake’s songs through newly composed orchestrations and vibrant vocal styles not found in the original studio releases. Audiences will witness different combinations of cello, piano, guitar, and orchestral harp on memorable songs such as One of These Things First, and Northern Sky as well as some new dramatic interpretations of Drake’s songs Saturday Sun and Things Behind the Sun. “At the Chime of a City Clock” runs at 7pm on Sundays August 12, 19, and 26th at Davenport’s 1383 N Milwaukee. $10 admission with 2-drink minimum. For reservations, visit www.davenportspianobar.com or call 773-278-1830
