About
Chris Castle was born a first generation midwesterner. The son of displaced, Pentecostal coal-miners, Castle's parents migrated to Ohio from eastern Kentucky in the late 60's to the promise of concrete and factory jobs.
He started singing in churches and at local festivals when he was only four-years-old. By eleven, Chris had toured three states, playing bass and singing high tenor with a Gospel Bluegrass group. Castle signed his first publishing deal when he was fifteen years old, and had written with some of Nashville's biggest hitmakers- including: Casey Kelly (the Cowboy Rides Away), Bud Lee (Friends in Low Places), and Wood Newton (Bobbie Sue) before turning twenty.
Castle has been featured on radio and TV, and in print media, in places as far-reaching as: Cleveland, Kent, Sandusky and Mansfield, Ohio; New London, Connecticut; Concord and Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Knoxville and Nashville, Tennessee; Cocoa Beach and Melbourne, Florida; and Seattle, Washington.
