Eat Sleep & Dream of Music
About
"We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the dancers, we create the dreams."
Many years ago I trained to be a professional dancer at the London School of Contemporary Dance so I can say with much confidence that I have rhythm in my body. Whilst at school we were lucky enough to have live musicians playing for our classes both in ballet and contemporary classes. I have worked in opera ,television and for contemporary dance companies and performed all over Europe and the world, so far 36 countries. So being a dancer music has always played an important part in my life.
Whilst training to be a dancer I was introduced to jazz through my friend Misha's dad who put together some mix tapes of the likes of Art Blakey , John Coltrane, Miles Davies Horace Silver and the like. I gave those tapes away , DOH !
Club Life : London, The Fez with the Don Gilles Peterson, The Emerald Center , Sheperds Bush, Bar Rumba on a Monday night. Paris, Sherherazade, What a club ! Cardiff, the Hippo Club,Spice, Time Flies and L'america.
I am now concentrating on my music. Last October I invested in the Reason program and dusted down an old Korg, so I'm very new at the game. I find it hard to pin point my music as it varies from track to track. Sometimes House, Maybe a little D&B. Sometimes Jazz. sometimes things just happen organically , a sound here a sound there. I also like to use classical instruments as I find orchestras can rock. I'm also very heavily into Percussion.
Gotta Keep Those Feet Moving. 'chk'
.
I also DJ, From Jazz through to house, basically anything that makes my feet move and my ass shake ! I play in bars In Bruxelles such as the Cafe Belga, Rois de Belge, PP Cafe and the Walvis.
