Cherry Street Hookers / Press

“The night ended with Cherry Street Hookers and their (not surprising) song “Bag of Weed,” about friends solving the world’s problems with a container of the sticky-icky. After some technical difficulties with guitarist/singer Peter Palenske’s amp, the foursome went into the ample-sounding “Paris,” written two days after Jim Morrison’s 50th birthday. Vidal Perez’s strong bass lines and Mark Euston’s energetic drum solos on closer “The Rant” kept the Hookers at their bluesy best, even though the crowd had started to dissipate into the night.
