“ROCKIN', ROLLIN'...RUBBING ELBOWS with the STARS!
Staff reports
PALMSPRINGS — The Convention Center at the La Quinta Resort and Club, a Waldorf Astoria hotel in Palm Springs, was filled to capacity in late June with radio programmers, record labels and music insiders — all awaiting the keynote address for Michele Clark’s Sunset Sessions.
On June 23, MTV’s Matt Pinfield and singer/songwriter/founder of Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan, took the stage and began their presentation with a shout out to the crowd: “Hey, Cheating Daylight is in the house. Did everyone see their show last night? It kicked (expletive). Give it up for Cheating Daylight.”
The award-winning band of teen brothers with members Jesse Crosson 18, Kyle Crosson, 16, and Jaden Crosson, 13, from Vacaville, along with Jacob Gill, 17, and Connor Gill, 13, from Cobb, became part of an exclusive group that includes stars such as Stevie Nicks, Melissa Etheridge and Jason Mraz, to name a few.”
