Bring in the new year with some traditional Scottish, Irish and Country music provided by the latest export from the Montrose music scene. A Right Couple O' Charlie's will provide fun, laughter and a good old Scottish sing-song to bring in the New Year. The Neptune provides a wonderfully intimate environment where you can get up close and personal (not too personal though), dance, sing, and banter away with the locals. A braw nicht guaranteed.

    Montrose, UK | 9:00pm

Commence The Battle of the Beardies....... First up, and headlining are the increasing popular Mad Ferret. The Mad Ferret Band are a Scottish duo, known on the folk scene for their hard hitting blend of traditional and contemporary Folk music. Their lively, energetic performances are packed with “blisteringly fast Mandolin solos”, tight harmonies, driving Cajon beats and earth-moving Guitar sounds. The influence from both Scottish and Irish folk music has helped shape their unique sound. The Duo features Chris Woods on Mandolin, Guitar and Vocals and Sandy Stirton on Guitar, Cajon and Vocals. Next up is local Beardie, Neil 'Wishy' Wishart, aka Nosmo Blues. Wishy is a singer/songwriter from Montrose and has has embarked on a new adventure of going it alone and doing solo shows. He plays original music with a few crazy moments and the overindulgence of strange fruit along the way. His music and set have been described as “Doomcoustic Folk & Blues with earthy vocals”…”Like screamin at the Devil himself” and “Harprapin Blues Stomp”. Wishy’s powerful voice entices his audience and leaves them with a lasting impression. Finally, and kicking off the evening is another local, man of many beards, Charlie Williamson. Charlie has been hovering around the music scene in Montrose for many years now, often doing support slots with the odd solo event here and there. A fine light opening to your evening with an eclectic mix of covers drizzled with some parodies and a sprinkling of originality.

Lauren, Emily and Meghan, now commonly known as 'Sorella', are three sisters who all started singing at an early age. Each with her own distinctive voice they enjoy working together, writing their own harmonies and covering a variety of popular songs. Amongst other local gigs, they have enjoyed playing for the last few years in Montrose Music Festival, this year being their highlight when they were joined by Manuel Munoz on guitar and Michael Knowles on cajon.
