Bio

Originally from Del Rio, Texas. I've been playing bass for quite a few years and have experience in styles ranging from Rock, Classic Rock, Country, Top-40 Country, Blues, Tejano, R&B to Hawaiian. Privilaged to play bass with some great musicians and made many friends along the way. My best gigs by far have been the ones that I share the stage with my family. Most recently with my brother Joel.

I've enjoyed touring the US and Canada. I currently tour with a band of brothers called Vida aka The Electric Cowboys.

About

 About Vida-The Electric Cowboys...

Over the course of this extraordinary career, Vida, also known as, The Electric Cowboys has received multiple awards in some of the Music Industry's major categories, including a top four-7 million vote finish on CMT’s Music Madness Video Contest and Grammy nomination for “Best Album” at the 47th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

2001 marked a major milestone for this group as they accepted an exciting invitation to tour with the Dixie Chicks on their “Fly” Tour. This was the first headlining tour for the Chicks which included opening acts Patty Griffin, Willie Nelson, Ricky Skaggs, Vida and Joe Ely.

Wherever they perform, this dynamic group has managed to reach the hearts of the audiences making more and more fans. And with their collective feet planted firmly on the ground, they continue to hone their musical and performance skills which are key to maintaining their personal rapport with these audiences.

This charismatic group’s passion for music and performance continues to fuel a successful career. A career built on a foundation of solid dedication, hard work and team-effort. Everyone gives their 110%. And it is these efforts that allow this band to continue to produce their brand of live performance to the thousands of fans that come out to their concerts.

This band of brothers consists of:

Art Tijerina – Lead Vocalist

Jason Martinez – Guitar/Vocals

Tim Villanueva – Drums

Joel Vasquez – Accordion/Acoustic Guitar/Vocals

Michael Molini – Keyboards/Vocals

Roger Vasquez – Bass/Vocals

As a group that truly stops at nothing, the hard work and dedication continued;
For months of long hours the group worked closely with J-Beck records producer, Carl Becker to release: “Prisoner of the Honky Tonk”. Within three weeks of the release of this album, "Because I Love You", secured the #6 position as a Hit Single on Texas Radio 94.7, and #4 on BNET Radio and attracting national media attention from Nashville’s Music Row, CD-TEX, and Italy’s finest, Planet Country. "…We are getting Reviews from all over the world. This proves once again that these boys are here for the long haul…” J-Beck Records Producer, Carl Becker.

The Electric Cowboys are a complex, unpredictable, ball of talent and energy as illustrated by their finish as one of CMT’s Music Madness’ finalists! What an honor! A huge indication of what effect this group can have on an audience. Any time you find a group with this type of drive and desire, no matter the twists, turns, ups and downs, or how long the road traveled — they’ll find success. This band believes that if you want something bad enough, nothing is impossible.

And now The Electric Cowboys will soon present a new CD, “Heartaches and Highways”!
